FREE PALESTINE
Calls for a ceasefire fall on deaf ears, and the continued protests of people around the world are being forgotten. As I walked through the city streets, I found the walls and lampposts engulfed with the outcry and demand to free Palestine from destruction. When given the prompt of what the future of fashion would look like, I couldn’t continue my work without acknowledging the horrors that continue in Gaza, pushing others to support the Palestinians, and call for the end of the genocide, condemning the people in power who are allowing this to happen
THE WHITE SHIRT
Given the instruction to create a shirt however I pleased, I wanted to manipulate its connotations; clean, smart, symmetrical. Break free from perfection.
FASHIONS FUTURE
With the rise of VR, I explored what garments could look like in virtual reality. Inspired by retro-futurism I created a virtual collection inspired by brands such as Auroboros who have already began to step into this niche field. I used full advantage of the virtual space by creating garments that could not exist in reality, and a physical garment that could be worn in the future.
